Summaries af ISHH assembly meetings

Assembly meeting during 3rd International Conference on Holistic Health and Medicine

Copenhagen, Denmark, November 17-19, 2006

Summary

1.                  President report

Michael de Vibe gave a report on the activities of the Society, which was accepted by the participants.

2.                  Treasurer report

Søren Ventegodt reported that the activities of the society (website etc) has been performed as expenses underridden by the QOL Research Center Copenhagen. Since there has been no paying member the society has been functioning without funds. It was accepted that we should until further notice accept members without collecting a fee.

3.                  Secretary report

Trine Flensborg-Madsen has arranged a list of members and been the contact for persons asking information about our activities.

4.                  Website (http://www.livskvalitet.org/cms.ashx/ISHH/)

Søren Ventegodt has again underridden the expenses and established  space for the information on ISHH on the website above.

5.                  Journal

Through the good offices of Søren Ventegodt and Joav Merrick an official journal was established in 2006. TSW-Holistic Health and Medicine (http://www.tswholistichealth.com.) is an on-line journal published by the ScientificWorldJournal and started due to a grant secured by Søren Ventegodt. In order for the journal to survive we need more subscriptions and more authors willing to pay for free access. We hope that by 2007 that TSW-HHM will be integrated into the main journal but stay an indepent virtual journal on the website. By getting back into the main journal we will be able to have PubMed indexing and impact factor in 2008. This was arranged in 2007 through the support of Daniel Shek from Hong Kong, who funded that all 2006 published papers were re-published as ScientificWoldJournal papers with indexing in Medline.

6.                  Next conference

It was decided to change to bi-annual conferences in order to have amble time to prepare, for people to present their work and also to this way make a better economy for these events. Next conference (4th) will be in Lexington, Kentucky, United States on 24-26 September 2008 (Chair: Hatim A Omar), in 2010 in Hong Kong (Chair: Daniel TL Shek), in 2012 in Tasmania, Australia (Chair: Erica Bell) and in 2014 in South Africa (Chair: Bernhard Brom). Important that we now get into a new phase with more organized scientific conference on a larger scale than we have done so far and we hope that by having two years between we will be able to attract 250 people coming to Lexington.

7.                  Ethical standard/code

Michael de Vibe presented at the conference a draft for ethical standards or an ethical code for the society, which was discussed and it was accpeted that Michael will make a written draft and send out to the members and after a period of responses time it will finally be listed on the website. Publication in the Int J Child Health Hum Dev 2008;1(1) issue.

8.                  Elections

Niels Jørgen Andersen and Søren Ventegodt asked to step down from the board. It was discussed that the ideal number of persons on the board should be five members, but until the Lexington conference we will stay with nine members (could also be seen as five member and four substitutes). The new board of the International Society for Holitic Health is Michael de Vibe (President), Daniel Shek (Vice President), Trine Flensborg-Madsen (Secretary), Joav Merrick (Treasurer) and Elected Executive members: Bengt Lindstrom, Mohammed Morad, Hatim A Omar, Igor Bondarenko and Erica Bell.

9.                  Bylaws

Will be changed according to the discussions and resolutions of the Assembly and listed on the website.
